Our story
From experience abroad to a long-term decision to build in Lebanon.
Calipso’s journey began in the UAE in 2007 through Jad El-Kareem Assal and Rola Assal. In 2018, the family established the Lebanon operation and Nader Assal joined the business.
Through difficult years in Lebanon, the business continued to develop step by step. Working together as sister and brothers, the family kept building with commitment, resilience and a practical focus on long-term growth across Lebanon and the UAE.

The Everyday School Bag and reusable Water Bottle are not required to achieve the packaging objective, but they extend the Initiative into daily school life - reducing sourcing hassle, supporting shared school identity and encouraging additional reusable habits.

Calipso International Expands the Green Initiative for the 2027/2028 Academic Year
Calipso International is developing the Green Initiative from its original reusable uniform-bag concept into a complete reusable and returnable packaging system for school uniform distribution.
The expanded structure combines Premium long-life products, cost-effective Essentials and Operational assets - including reusable fabric packaging envelopes and returnable bulk delivery bags - with one objective: progressively eliminate disposable plastic bags from the full distribution process.
The 2026/2027 academic year serves as the initial implementation stage, while the expanded program is being prepared for broader school application in 2027/2028. Schools interested in participating can review the School Partnership Overview and request the full proposal from Calipso International.

Calipso International and Beirut Annunciation Orthodox College Begin the Green Initiative's First School Partnership
Beirut Annunciation Orthodox College is the first participating school in the Green Initiative, establishing the first practical implementation of Calipso International's school sustainability partnership program.
The partnership begins the transition from disposable plastic uniform packaging toward reusable textile solutions and provides a real environment in which the expanded system can continue developing ahead of the 2027/2028 academic year.
Beyond waste reduction, reusable products carry visible reuse symbols and carefully selected quotes designed to reinforce responsibility and more conscious habits among students and parents.
